IMPLICATION OF NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMMISSION (NBC) RULES AND REGULATION ON BROADCASTING MEDIA

This study examined the implication of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) rules and regulation on broadcasting media. In this research work the broadcasting station AIT being studied on how they make their operation to conform to the regulation guiding them, which AIT has been chosen and studied. However, since it is not possible for the broadcasting media to regulate themselves, this research is basically on the regulation and rules that guide and affecting the broadcast media. The objective of this research project is to sway the regulation affecting the broadcast media which is discovered to be law guiding the operation if the media, government agencies, professional organisation, commercial lobbies and so on. Critical reviews of related literature were made. Relevant theories were used to gratify the study. The quantitative research design was used in which cross-sectional survey method was adopted while the data collection instrument was the questionnaire. Findings also indicated that the organisation experience few retrenchment of workers and organisational restructuring, the ban also affected its mode of operation and other media activities like programming e.t.c. Finally, it is recommended that the NBC should Endeavour to give room to the fair hearing in their rules and regulation as well as actions. And have it as their responsibility in carrying the broadcast media along in their policies.
